Today is World Food Day – a day that aims to heighten public awareness of the world food problem and strengthen solidarity in the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty. World Food Day goes to the heart of what we do at Simplot Australia: We contribute to feeding our world by bringing earth’s resources to life.
Food is the essence of life and the bedrock of cultures and communities. We all have a role to play, to make sure that our food systems grow a variety of food to nourish a growing population and sustain the planet, together.
Promoting innovation in agri-food systems, as well as reducing food loss and waste, are vital to step up the fight against hunger and poverty. At Simplot Australia, we are proud to partner with WWF-Australia and the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP), which is supporting innovative, community-led approaches to sustainable fisheries management in some of the most vulnerable communities in the Solomon Islands.
