For over 25 years, we have proudly partnered with Australia’s leading food and grocery relief organisation, Foodbank Australia. Foodbank is making sure everyone has access to good quality food, no matter their situation.

Did you know that in the last 12 months, 54% of food-insecure households had someone in paid work? Or 2 million households went hungry at some point. On top of this, 1.3 million children lived in severely food-insecure households.

Foodbank recently issued their 2022 National Partner Sponsor snapshot, which highlighted that Simplot provided the equivalent of 683,600 meals through donated stock, and over 200,000 kilograms of Leggo’s and Chicken Tonight sauces were donated as part of the Collaborative Supply Program.

Since 2011, Simplot has donated more than 2.5 million units of product to the Collaborative Supply Program. Through this program, Foodbank collaborates with manufacturers and their component suppliers to produce a sustainable source of key staple foods that don’t come in sufficient quantities via normal rescue channels.

Foodbank works with 2,950 frontline charities and 2,890 school breakfast programs throughout Australia to get over 82 million meals out to those who could use a hand every year.

Foodbank is addressing Australia’s hunger crisis by supplying more food and groceries than ever to charities for distribution to those needing it. Foodbank restores hope to people who are struggling while also tackling Australia’s $36.6 billion food waste problem. Foodbank does this by rescuing and sourcing food and groceries from farmers, manufacturers and retailers and distributing it through their charity network nationwide for individuals and families in need.
