The latest George Institute FoodSwitch: State of the Food Supply report has found Simplot to be Australia’s number one food manufacturer based on “product healthiness”.
George Institute researchers use the Government-developed Health Star Rating (HSR) system criteria to assess over 25,000 packaged food and drinks being sold in supermarkets across Australia.
The FoodSwitch: State of the Food Supply report has been assessing the healthiness of Australia’s packaged food supply since 2018. It shows the healthiness of product portfolios across large food and beverage manufacturers and aims to acknowledge those who are performing well and encourage positive change towards a healthier food supply.
