Young Australian Athletes Ready to Compete at the Simplot Games in Idaho

Eight young athletes from the Maribyrnong Sports Academy (MSA) will be heading to the US to compete in the 43rd Annual Simplot Games on 16-18 February 2023.

This premier indoor high school track and field event, which is sponsored by Simplot, sees about 2,200 young athletes from 19 different US states, Canada, New Zealand and Australia compete at Idaho State University. It is equivalent to a high school Olympics!

Darren Tendler, Vice President Simplot Australia and New Zealand, said, “ We are delighted to again be sending a team from MSA to participate in this amazing event. At Simplot, one of our core values is ‘passion for people’ and this is about supporting our people and communities and providing opportunities for them to achieve their best.”

MSA is the first State Government Funded Specialist Sports School Program in Victoria. Established in 2006 the Academy is currently home to moe than 550 student-athletes who compete in a range of sports. MSA provides a genuine high-performance environment for students to thrive in both sport and education and achieve their dreams.
